It happens in an instant. A heavy weight in your gut, a trembling of your limbs, the world spins and you barely have time to register that you're falling before you lose consciousness. And when you awaken, it's not where you were last. Dark, unadorned oak walls surround you in a tiny room, the only furniture the bed you are currently resting upon, and the bedside table with a folded piece of parchment resting atop it that simply reads:

“The Tavernkeeper is awaiting your arrival downstairs.”

As you exit you find others like yourself emerging from the surrounding rooms. You are indeed in a tavern, but there is no hustle and bustle one might think to hear in such a place. The only person down on the main floor is a humanoid figure wiping down the bar, who smiles when they see you. They're familiar, but not, and you can't quite place their face. For some reason, however, their presence is comforting and warm.

“Welcome, Visitor. I'm sure you have a lot of questions.”

And you most certainly do.



The world of Caldera is governed by three leaders: Aella of the Sky, Cordelia of the Sea, and Terra of the Land. Each has their own area of control and their powers have influenced the magic that the land is able to offer.

Caldera is falling apart. The sky is falling, seas have become raging tempests, and the earth is rotting. In a last ditch effort to save Caldera, the leaders decided to bring in outside help: with their combined power, they are able to transport people from other worlds into their own to bring new power into the world with the hopes that assistance from them will begin to heal their lands.

Each leader created their own faction to guide Visitors into where they may best fit in.

Sylphs soar the Sky as free-spirited but determined individuals. They may be granted wings to soar through the skies to their heart’s content–but Aella expects quite a bit from those who wish to live in the Sky and wants to push them to do their best before she grants them a bit of her power.

Undines are of the Sea and seek the knowledge beneath the waves, wishing to unravel all of Caldera’s mysteries. Healers are abundant within Undine given the healing power of the water. Cordelia offers as much of her power as she can spare to Undine to grant them whatever powers they wish.

Dryads of the Land boast resilience and growth, believing that new life can rise from the ashes with enough determination. They are fierce but kind, loyal almost to a fault. Terra has a love for the Land and grants those that she deems worthy with abilities that enhance or communicate with the Land.

Although all Visitors must choose a faction, their abilities are not limited by their faction and are dependent on what sorts of assistance the Visitors bring that may draw the attention of each leader, and granting them abilities as a thanks.
