Undine
Much like the sea, Undine can be many things: calm and mysterious, deadly and unpredictable like the raging tides. Cordelia encourages them to seek the truth and question everything, and will reward those who are adventurous and willing to learn with many unique abilities like underwater breathing, healing magics, and swimming as quickly as one might run on land, to further aid them in becoming one with the sea. Undine are also well practiced in the healing arts, making up the majority of healers and physicians in Caldera. Talented Undine may be able to heal even the most grievous wounds with a single touch.
Scholarly and calm though they often are, Undine are also talented warriors capable of great destruction, either with their control of the tides or various weaponry at their disposal. Even the more dangerous creatures of the deep would do well not to enrage those that call the sea their home.
Primary Themes: Curious, spirited, healing, secretive, serene, solitary, fluctuating
What makes an Undine: The obvious answer would be a hunger for knowledge, but that is not the only defining feature of an Undine. Some may not be inclined toward scholarly pursuits at all, but perhaps instead are more secretive in nature, have an affinity to heal others and prioritize them over their own well being, or are seeking a drastic change — for better or worse.
Sylphs are the rulers of the skies; ever chasing the storm, they are bold, relentless, and driven by a hunger to rise higher than anyone else. Under Nymion's rule, that ambition has only sharpened. Where Aella once guided with trust, Nymion commands with challenge — daring his people to push their limits and prove themselves worthy of the skies.
Flight remains the greatest and most common blessing among the Sylph. Nymion's touch brings with it speed, power, and the electric thrill of danger. He rewards daring, scorning hesitation, and encourages his followers to embrace both glory and risk.
Given their place above the world, Sylphs continue to be innovators and explorers. Under Nymion's eye, their airships fly faster, their inventions wilder, their experiments bolder. The laws of the land don't reach the clouds and neither do its limits. Nymion doesn't warn them not to fly too close to the sun. He dares them to do it and see if they can survive.
Primary themes: Ambition, boldness, competition, risk-taking, confidence, innovation, self-reliance
What makes a Sylph: Sylphs are those who chase greatness in everything they do. They are adventurers, innovators, bold enough to rise and strong enough to keep climbing. Hard work earns Nymion's respect, but bold ambition earns his favor. A Sylph doesn't just seek freedom — they seize it, shape it, and fly straight into the heart of the storm.
The Dryad are the keepers of the earth, who maintain stability between civilization and the natural world. Under the wisdom and guidance of their ruler, Terra, they mine, plant and harvest crops, hunt and gather, always mindful never to take more than is given back. The gifts granted to the Dryad aid them in these important tasks, allowing them to coax life from the ground and communicate with animals both domestic and wild.
While many Dryad find fulfillment among the clusters of cottages and farms, others enjoy braving the depths of the forest for game or even more dangerous prey. Some choose to journey deep into the mines, to seek out precious metals and rare magic infused gems found there. Others still find contentment in the port city of Grey Ward, a bustling hub for the trade of goods and transit between sky, sea, and land. There is a great deal of freedom to be found living among the Dryad, with only one vital, iron-clad rule: Balance must be maintained, above all else.
Primary Themes: Stalwart, stubborn, practical, mindful, grounded, reliable, dutiful
What makes a Dryad: The Dryad people are the true salt of the earth. They are an honest, grounded, and straightforward people who believe in working the land, taking care of their neighbors, and protecting the balance between nature and civilization. They feel that they must be the level headed, steady presence between the mysterious depths and the turbulent skies.
